I used these tyres (26er) to convert my Scott Spark 60 to an urban tank as part of my rehab for a broken leg. They went easily onto my spare wheelset and voila im getting back to strength on the road. They roll SO WELL and are perfect for using my mtb as a road trainer until i can handle bumby trails again. Really love them. I hate the look of thin tyres on an mtb it just doesnt look right, so these were nice and fat and looked the part.

massive & heavy. The quality is excellent. These tires are difficult to mount. Once mounted the ride is plush when inflated @ 50psi or lower. Go higher and they will roll better but you get a harsher ride. If you are used to light weight mtb tires then you will be disappointed with the weight and handling - particularly the acceleration.

    Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:

Haven't hit the trails lately, so needed a fast rolling road tire. Had the WTB Slicks, didn't like b/c it didn't corner well at hi speed. Replaced w/ hookworm, big difference. Tire is very sturdy, fast rolling. I lean heavy on turns at high speeds, no problem tire grips very well on road. Tires also performed well on hard-pack. Like any road type tire, slippery in wet condition although this tire is not to bad. 2.5 width looks good on 29er.

        Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:

I have been a lifelong cyclist and currently ride a road and mountain bike regularly. The hardtail 29er has been seeing mainly commuter duty for the past several months and when the knobbies were finally finished I decided to upgrade. Are there more specific tires for commuting? Sure. But those skinny little tires look WRONG on a 29er! Are these heavy? Maybe but I honestly can't feel a big enough difference to complain about. Especially given the improved ride, faster roll, better momentum, great looks and puncture resistance. It was a GREAT choice for me!!

                  Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:

Replacement 16" tire for my B.O.B. trailer. This tire is made of a much higher quality than I would expect for something this small. After several hundred miles with at least 60 pounds of weight in the trailer, the tire is showing very little wear. I would definitely recommend this for a kid's bike over a cheaper tire which most likely isn't made as well and won't last as long.

                    Comments about Maxxis Hookworm Tire:

very tough street tire with thick rubber on both tread and sidewall, excelent for commuting and cruizing on pavement.they will last foever and not give you any trouble at all.
rubber is heavy and these tires have lots of it,the weight is very noticeable when accelerating braking and cornering.
if you are looking for a performance tire for racing,stunts/tricks or skate park you may want to look at the intense mk2,that weigh less than half what these do and have better grip but the thin soft rubber of the mk2 also make them prone to punctures and sidewall damage and they dont last very long.
the hookworms are super tough and will get you home every time for many years but you proberbly wont win any races on these but after you've destroyed your race tires these will still be there.

Put these tires on both my Bianchi single speed bicycles, about nine years ago. They are still with me and I have enjoyed every aspect of the tire. Great tire! I commute, and my bicycles are strictly for transportation.
