The GT Sanction 1.0 is not for the faint at heart. The Sanction 1.0 was designed and developed for riders that want to get rowdy on the trail. The bike is strong and burly enough to handle the abuse of the mountain, yet light enough to be thrown around. The Monocoque/ Hydroformed XM Metal™ frame features 150mm of travel with an Independent Drivetrain (I-Drive) platform. I-Drive is unique in that regardless of how the rear wheel moves, it won’t pull on the chain, crank, or pedals. This results in improved pedaling efficiency. With I-Drive you’ll notice reduced drag, preserved momentum, and a faster smoother ride.
The Sanction 1.0 has a 66° head angle, makes for a comfortable ride when aiming your rig down-hill. Yet, it’s upright enough to be able to climb up the next pitch. The Sanction 1.0 is the complete package. GT laced this bike up with high end componentry that was built to perform. To start, GT chose the Fox Racing Shox 36 Float 160 RLC FIT with a 20mm through axle. The Float has rebound and compression adjustment along with a lock out. It also features the FIT cartridge. FIT stands for Fox Isolated Technology. FIT technology employs a bladder system that keeps the oil and air from mixing to provide optimal performance. To compliment the fork, GT installed the Fox Shox Float RP23 rear shock. The Float RP23 features 150mm of travel with adjustable rebound, compression, and lockout. With the lockout feature, climbing up the hill will be a snap! Fox Shox provides superior suspension that is smooth and reliable. The Shimano Deore XT rapid fire shifters work seamlessly with the Shimano Deore XT front derailleur and Shimano XTR Shadow RD+. The DTSwiss E2000 wheelset is strong yet light. The high quality hubs help maintain momentum and have less drag than the average wheelset. To bring you to a stop, GT fitted the Sanction 1.0 with Formula The One brakes with 180mm rotors in the front and rear. Adjusting your seatpost while on the trail can be quite an inconvenience. Therefore, GT has installed the RockShox Reverb with 125mm of height adjustment. The hydraulic seatpost allows you to make seatpost height adjustments without having to pull over to the side of the trail.
With spot on geometry and high quality components, the GT Sanction 1.0 is sure to become your favorite bike.

Comments about GT Bicycles GT Sanction 1.0 Mountain Bike 2012:
Slack Head anngle. Angleset is set to 1deg steeper so 67deg. Climbs well although you are sitting back due to the stem and head angle. Downhill is where this bike shines. Really confident on the steeps and suspension handles a hard landing like a champ. Top components. On the scale this bike is 32.5 W pedals. Dan Atherton races this in Enduro and it pretty much rocks. Pedals are Meh, I going to change them for some AMX.
