Great pedals! These were the first set of Cranky's that I've owned and still use them on my hardtail for cross-country. After 3000 miles on this set the bearings/bushings are still in great condition. I've bashed a few rocks and tree stumps with them and they've held up to abuse, well.
Initially, with Cranky's, they are somewhat difficult to snap in and are difficult to release in an accident. However, after a half season of riding, the cleats/eggbeaters will break in, nicely, which makes them easier to clip in and out. (Especially, when you rely on them to release during a bailout or wreck.)

I use these pedals for technical trail riding. I have smashed them hard against some nasty rocks, and the only damage is scratches on the platforms.
I was used to eggbeaters, and it took a little getting used to clipping in with the platform. Now I have a good method for using the platform without clipping in if I want to stay free.

used for cross country and technical trail, gives me a bit of extra efficiency for the long steep uphills. cleaning hills i normally havnt. takes some getting used to. couple of falls cause i coundnt dab in time.

These pedals are a great value. I was coming off of bmx and then platforms and I like to be all over my pedals. These were a great entry point to clipless and allowed me enough play to stay comfortably connected. They are great also if you are just going to throw on some tennis shoes and roll down the street, with enough surface area to still feel secure.
