Easton is pretty enthusiastic about their Haven Carbon seatpost. Developed as part of their new Haven All Mountain group, this new post whispers to the scales at just 240-grams (31.6 diameter x 400mm length), but exceeds the strength of heavier aluminum posts. How so? TaperWall design puts just the right amount of material where it’s needed and RAD (Relief Area Design) helps to ensure that the Haven post can be clamped securely without harming its carbon shaft.

Needed a 27.2 seatpost for my Ellsworth Evolution and this fit the bill perfectly. Seatpost is light and strong. I just wish it had a carbon weave but that is usually more cosmetic than structural and only adds weight. Not as light as a Thomson Masterpiece but definitely a better value.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Solid seatpost from Easton. Could look better but for the price is a great upgrade. As mentioned in other reviews, it needs a good torq in order to maintain it in place, but once you find the exact torq (around 7nm) your good to go. Make sure your seat post collar is with its "gap" turned towards the seat stays (See photos below).
Soaks up the bumps nicely.

I needed a longer seatpost and this fit the bill at 400mm. It's nice looking, although I probably would have preferred a nice carbon weave to the matte black. I did have to tighten it down a tad more than expected to keep it from slipping into the bike frame, but once I found the sweet spot it stayed put.

I have installed this post on my SantaCruz Tallboy Aluminium with no problems. Used the proper torque on the clamp and has not slipped. Can't believe how light this is compared to my stock post and for it's intended use(which is AM).
