For fast recreational and racing, DuraAce is, of course, legendary. Fantastic build quality and fast accurate shifts are a hallmark.
If you're used to Shimano 105 or Ultegra, DuraAce's rear derailleur will win your heart as soon as you complete the install and go to adjust it for the first time. It's fast and easy to achieve perfectly accurate shifting when paired with the DuraAce 7900 shift and brake levers.
My only complaint is that the shifts to smaller cogs feel like the chain is being dropped onto the next gear. Shifts to larger cogs are the absolute definition of smoothness and perfection.
Don't get me wrong...even the "drops" are very precise and accurate. But you'll wish that you got the same level of performance going in both directions!
