You get what you pay for and this is worth every penny. Yes, it is heavy, but it is secure and does the job perfectly. I have never felt more secure that my bike is not going anywhere. I also love the locking mechanism that locks the rack to the car and the bike to the rack. It's super easy to install and my tri-bike fits perfectly.

Very solid construction, but heavy. My Dodge Charger can handle it though. I can put two mountain bikes that together weigh 62lbs. with no problem.

I used this all summer on my car with both my 29er and my CX and road bikes. It worked great with any bike or two bikes on it. The only downside is the weight is pretty high. It did leave slight impressions in the rear bumper but they came right out after the rack was removed.

For years I would break my bikes down and put in the car and was ok with it. I now ride 4 or more days a week and this has given me more time on the trail. I am extremely happy with the fact that you can lock the bike to the rack and the rack to the car. I now have the peace of mind to make any stops to and from riding.

The rack is a great design providing speedy and eay loading of bikes without having to load them on the roof. The rack has one adjust number for your car model so set angles. 4 hooks strap easily to car to provide support and cable tension holds the device in place. Some parts are rather cheap and I question how long they will last. Some screws rusting very soon but overall this holds two heavy 29ers with stability. I would not trust the locks as a security device and would lot leave my bikes unattended on this thing. The clamps holding the bike frame lock but could be easily circumvented. The cables 'lock' as well but this is for structural support to the car more than providing any actual security -- that being said this is a great alternative to a hitsh type rack and I can easilty get my bike on or off in less than a minute. I leave it on the car a lot as it is pretty heavy and doing so it holds water from even small rains so be careful if you decide to haul this into the house as it will drip. The only other drawback is its size-- not very easy to store even though it does fold up. This overall is a great product and I would gladly pay more for the same basic rack made with sturdier materials. The design is good. Security and cheapness of materials my only issue-- but knowing that this was the case I purchased as it met my needs and would recommend Thule invest more in the materials
