I went from a 50/34 compact double to the 46/36 gearing of this crankset, and I love it. The gearing is much more useful for cyclocross, where you just don't need a 50 toother. Probably don't need a 46t, either, but for road rides and gravel centuries, the top end speed comes in handy. In short, I prefer the gearing of this crankset. Top it off with a CX70 top pull front derailleur if you've got top tube cable routing. Best upgrade you can give yourself.

Good crank for an all round crank, replaced the inner 36t for a 34t, going to use it for a cyclocross bike, on & off road.
