The Excavator is fast straight line speed with superior cornering due to it’s “H” shaped side knobs. The directional tread means every knob present was specifically designed to optimize performance. I bought these tires thinking the tread would be less "grippy" than the Nevegals, but in fact it was more so. VERY high rolling resistance, even on pavement feels like your pedaling through mud. Be great for downhill

This is a great, durable DH tire. I run the 2.5" and it works well in the dry, loose conditions we find here in Southern California. Perfectly suited for the pumice up in Mammoth. Very consistent tire that you can't go wrong with.
