As I am already 71 and I still love riding uphill, I installed this double crankset to replace a 7900 Dura Ace crankset on one of my road bikes. I use it in combination with a rear 9 speed Shimano XTR derailleur (that works perfectly with 10 speed Dura Ace Shifters)and a 10 speed 11/34 Shimano cassette. I use this bike for long rides on mountains on roads with grades over 10%. With this bike I can still ride with my younger friends.

I have bought this crank twice now, it's all I need for all types of mountain biking that I do which is mostly xc and am terrain, looks really like a quality piece of gear, my previous set has done about 1000 km Which included muddy dusty and sandy use, doesn't seem to have worn at all.. Unreal at Jensen' s price..

Came on a SRAM 2x10 have no complaints about the cranks at all. Rode a full shimano set up and I was impressed and had to get a set of my own. I took offyhe granny ring because I want to run a 1x10 to push myself. So far everything has been good with them, quite a bit stiffer than my SLX on my tazer.

I'm using the XTR cranks on my single speed with 39t custom ring ...to fit my vertical drops without tensioner (my carbon hi-flex lightweight prefers larger gear combos ..39/23). It would be nice to have a more standard 104x4 patern ..oh well. The other less than ideal bit, is the need for three spacers on 68mm BBs which creates significant undesirable overhang for bearing support. Bottom line, landed a nice set of 180 cranks that should serve me quite well until the next bike comes along.

For XC racing the double crank is the way to go. Super light setup and I appreciate the simplicity and serviceability of the threaded bottom bracket. It was a great idea to go back to the standard pinch bolt attachment vice the 970s adjustment ring, which was unnecessary and finicky.
