I wear a 42 in the m43 shimano, but this one was to tight. This model is a little racy as in make walking and climbing steep obsticals difficult.

I got these for commuting, so comfort and quick on and off are important. Shimano shoes fit my slightly wider than normal feet just right. For serious Mt. biking, I'd get the next step up that has a racketing upper strap.

Good starter pair . Fit and finish are good for the price. Stiff sole feels good on long ride. Seem to be discontinued so get them while you can at this price level.

Buying shoes online is tricky. I looked up a lot of reviews finding measurements of these shoes because I do have wider feet than most. I wear a 10.5 for 90% of the shoes I buy and every now and then I will need to upsize to an 11 depending on the company. I read that these shoes were a smaller fit so I decided to go with the 46 (11.2) just incase. They fit perfectly! I would probably be able to fit comfortably into a 45 (10.5) after trying these on. bottom line is that us guys with wider feet don't need to worry about buying ridiculously large shoes to compensate. Try going one size bigger if your skeptical on size, you can always return it. Hope this clears some things up.
