Best Uses
Great looking clamp, plenty tough and had no issues getting enough force on it to keep my seat up. The camming action is unbelievably smooth, and the finish has held up to being worked a couple of times during each ride when I've needed to drop my seat.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

my stock specialized clamp was easier to open/close and actually held my post in place the hope clamp i would have to get off my bike and muscle it closed or my seat would twist. Only to have the collar crack in two on me...... not impressed at all.
Price, better 'feel' / less effort ,cool looking, comes in COLORS....I would recommend this over the Salsa, for those reasons, in that order.
Had the Salsa for years on a variety of bikes, and an IRD shark fin (Ithink it's called) on the Burner for a while, but the HOPE just works so much smoother. The brass washer i guess. The others get notchy and hard to close tightly. This thing actualy gets easier to open and close as it gets older, and the tension adjuster is a little knob, no digging for a 5mm allen wrench
