Crank Brothers Kronolog Seatpost

Kronolog from Crank Brothers offers 125mm of adjustment in a simple mechanical design. Kronolog is the only manufacturer that offers infinite travel adjustment. The air spring pre-load and return can be be adjusted with any shock pump using a shrader valve. Two stage damping allows the saddle to return to full height in two smooth stages.

The remote lever on the Crank Brothers Kronolog can be mounted either on the right or left side of the handlebars . At the other end, the cable and housing attach to the stationary lower part of the post keeping the cable routing from moving up and down the post and keeping the cable routing much cleaner. The central entry point keeps the cable routing clean regardless of what side your cable is routed and can also be routed from the back.

The Kronolog is offered in a 405mm aluminum post length with a travel adjustment of 125mm or 5 inches in black or black and red. The remote lever can be attached on the right or left side of the handlebars.

The kronolog was named #1 in the list of the 11 Best Cycling Products of 2012 by Outside Magazine.
"This dropper post impressed us more than any other piece of gear this year. Crank Brothers replaced the hydraulic internals of the uneven Joplin with an all-mechanical design that has stood up to nine months of hard wear. We prefer the Kronolog’s infinite height adjustment to other brands' two- or three- stage configurations, as well as the simplicity of the air spring for slowing or speeding the post’s return rate. This is not only a huge improvement from Crank Brothers’ original design, but it’s darn near our favorite dropper on the market, and we recommend it on any bike except for your lightest weight racer."

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Kronolog Dropper Post:

This post was great when I first got it. I set it up just like it stated. The first couple of rides were great then like everyone else it started slipping and it has gotten worse.

I talked to CB's service department and they have been very helpful. They suggested a few things and they didn't work so now they asked for me to send it back and they will fix it.

I had it for less than 1 month and initially it was great. Now it does not even lock in place. Once I sit down it slips all the way down. I loved it initially but now it is a nice looking paper weight.

    So far Great

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Kronolog Dropper Post:

I love being able to adjust the seat height on the fly. Really helps me as I work hard to get back in true riding form. It also helps with my bad back and knee, I can drop the seat for technical features and right back up to be in a strong pedal position.

I have read other reviews and I am watching to see how well the clamps hold up over time, or if the post gets too marked up from the clamps.

So far, loving it. Have about 5 rides on the seat post so far.

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Kronolog Dropper Post:

The seat post works great at first but then slippage starts to occur. At first it is barely noticeable, but then you notice it all the time. Check the reviews on this product on pinkbike and bikeradar dot coms. I have no axe to grind with Crank Brothers. They tested the product and had the same problems. The clamp is made of steel and the surface it mates to is made of aluminum, so eventually the clamp wears away and smooths away the surface it clamps to. For me, it took about 50 miles on my bike before the seat post started slipping down from the top most position anytime I sat on it. At first, it was about a millimeter but then it became more noticeable, and slipped about an inch. Works really good until the design flaw kicks in. I'm going to try to return mine and get my money back as soon as possible. Good luck if you plan to buy.

Comments about CrankBrothers Crank Brothers Kronolog Dropper Post:

After two rides with it it will no longer stay at full extension. I got this at the Sea Otter on thier "trade in" deal. I traded my Joplin and [$] for this post. Two rides later I need to send it in for warranty repair. My old Joplin held up much longer despite the play in the head.read the review of it on [@] and it describes exactly what is happening to mine.
