Comments about Serfas True 1000+ USB Headlight:
Although I only used it a few times before the snow started to fly, I was very pleased with the light. The high setting provided more than enough light in a dark forest. I kept it on high for a large part of a 2 hour ride, and it still had loads of battery life left. The battery charges quickly too.
One down side is that the light unit feels a bit heavy at first on top of the helmet, but after a while I forgot about it. The other problem is that if I am switching from a lower setting back up to a higher setting, I have to go through each light setting including off, before returning to high power. This means a brief few seconds in the dark. No problem when on flat open stuff, but sketchy in the single track or traveling with speed.
