The Avid Matchmaker works with pairing up both shifter and brake levers, just as it's supposed to. I think the people that give this item 1 or 2 stars, over tighten when installing. These are light-weight metal and don't need to be wrenched down. If you crash or bail out, you want the shifter and lever matchmaker to rotate on the bars so nothing breaks.

Like the other reviewers, have broken two of them during the same service. Was after about 6 months of use, however went back to OEM brake and shifter mounts.

Not good for the type of bike. I think they have to expect that once in a while we fall, better material would give this product a 4 to 5 star review.

This may seem unbelievable but I broke 3 left hand clamps with one ride each, no crashes. Additionally, I torqued them to the required specs. By observation the AL castings are very porous and the design is flawed as it has what my Dad says (he is a Mech engr) are stress concentration points. My Dad says he can smooth out the stress concentration points so that does not occur, but the castings are truly junk. Maybe a bad batch? We will try #4 and then buy something totally different.

Have broken two in one year, one from crash (ok), but one just while shifting. metal quality has the appearance of pot metal.
