A really solid shifter, has nice positive, definite shifts.
The rear/right shifter can run in indexed or friction mode, which is useful on a tour/ride if something happens (like a bent hangar) to affect indexed shifting.
My right hand shifter did break after a few hits, but only lost indexing, can still shift in friction so I could still ride.

These are fantastic. And that they include everything you need: housing, cable, handlebar housing guides, bottom bracket cable guide, down tube mounts, barrel adjusters, etc. EXCEPT... the housing is too short to wrap up the handlebars in front and too short for a nice bend at the rear derailleur in back. So I had to purchase foot longer front housing and three inch longer rear housing. And my bike frame is quite small as I'm 5'6"!!!! And the rear shift cable is 2000mm while I needed 2300mm so I have a spare front cable for the future.
The guys at my LBS were aware of this and also think its quite strange how Shimano packages them this way. Its possible the housings and cable are the correct length for TT/Tri bars but I don't have any so I don't know.

I use these on my 3x9 mountain bike with Paul adaptors. They work great, you instantly can tell what gear you're in just by looking at the levers, and you can shift as many gears as you want in a single motion. They are simple, durable, well made and offer very precise shifting. If cables get dirty and shifting isn't as crisp, you can keep going by changing the rear shifter from index to friction mode. Perfect for nasty Alaskan weather conditions. Did I mention that the front shifter is compatible with double or triple and that it is indexed too?

I just love these. They were a very inexpensive switch from downtube shifters, so I don't have to take my hands off the handlebars to change gears. P.S. Thanks Jenson for the price match.

Mechanically these levers are excellent (crisp reliable shifting). Great for all around riding and they work with MTB 9 speed. The ability to rapidly shift from 1-9 or 9-1 is handy and the infinite adjustment on the left (front) lever is also great. Being able to route the cable all the way up provides a clean setup.
