This wheelset was purchased to save an old Fisher hardtail from a dumpster on a college campus. I built the bike from random components from every source. The bike is a tank, and these wheels can take a beating. Just don't expect them to survive a big drop. I did get a slightly bent rim after a 3' drop on a rock garden. Still rolls and is only noticeable on perfect pavement at full pressure.

I mountain bike a lot in all of the conditions the NW has to, that means plenty of rain and mud. The Deore hubs were not up to the task. We had a rainy spring when I got these wheels. Within a month of riding about 3 times a week the hubs were rolling extremely rough and I had to service them. Servicing is not that hard but still a pain. When you have to do it nearly every month. Too make matters worse in about 4 months the cones track for the ball bearings was pitted and even after servicing they did not roll smooth.
In about 10 months the freewheel stopped working and I gave up on the wheels.
The rims are bomb proof though. It they were on a hub with sealed cartridge bearing this would be a wheel set that could last a really long time.

On the first pair, the the cassette lockring ripped the threads out of the freehub body. Ok, well, I ordered a new set. It's shimano and sun. It works. Jenson needs to work on their customer service, took too many phone calls, non of them returned, and still waiting for the return credit.

These babies last FOREVER. I had a set survive years of usage even in our brutal northern Michigan winters. I used them for commuting only on several different builds.
I had these on a bike I bought on [@] and liked them well enough to buy a pair for my fiances bike so she could use a 9 spd drive train. They are durable and have stayed true on my other bike and I expect the same this time around. They are pretty heavy and bulky, and slightly more difficult to get tires on compared to other rims I have used, but not to bad. For the price they get the job done.

Use these wheels for riding around the neighborhood. When I first received them they seemed to have several loose spokes. Thought they just needed to be broken in, I was wrong. Almost every spoke need to be tightened. When I rode on them it sounded like an old creaky ship. After I tightened them I have no more complaints.

I ride XC single track and run WTB Velociraptors. Occassionally though, I like to ride paved trails and the Velociraptors are not designed for that. Switching out tires is just too much of a pain so I purchased this wheelset. This is a good budget wheelset but with some short comings. The wheelset arrived out of true. I had to true both wheels. Other reviews had stated problems with the hubs and lack of grease. Upon disassemble, I discovered the hub bearings where very lightly packed with grease. I repacked both of the hubs bearings. If you are not mechanically inclined, a novice, or just don't want to hassle with fixing a new product, then don't buy this wheelset. If your cheap (like me) and want a good, cheap wheelset and don't mind the hassle of fixing them then buy them.
I'm not light. I vary between 180 and 190 lbs and much of the jumps I put them through where to flat and concrete on a college campus but they held up. The might last a decade on a weekend warrior xc bike. They are heavy for xc but light for everything else so no whining about weight.
I've been riding on this wheelset on my hardtail for the last 3years and the back wheel just started going out of true! Takes a good beating and cheep!
I love this wheelset I Bought it when it was much more expencive and I thought it was a great deal. If you think I'm just a SLOW RIDER that will say any thing is grate boy your WRONG!!! Before I had these rims I used to finish in 3rd and 4th place, now I Finish 1st and 2nd Place aganst Treak 9.9s And Specialized Stump Jumper.
