You may need a shim to get your XTR M971/980 front derailleur to work on a bike with different size seat tube. If so, the Shimano M971/980 Front Derailleur Shim is the part you need. It installs around the seat tube, beneath the derailleur clamp, and allows the clamp to fit correctly.
