In the wake of the success of the 11 Speed Dura Ace 9000 group, Shimano has recently revealed that the 11 Speed sensation was moving down the line to the more affordable Ultegra 6800 group. With the Ultegra 6800 11-Speed Cassette offering close and wide-range gearing options from 11-23 to 11-32 the rider tuned gearing choices just got broader. The Ultegra 6800 Cassette utilizes nickel-plated steel cogs for corrosion resistance. Did we mention the Ultegra 6800 Cassette is completely compatible with Dura Ace 9000 group?

Comments about Shimano Ultegra 6800 11-SPEED Cassette:
I was concerned the 11 speed would be finiky because more gears are packed into about the same space but it has crazy smooth shifting. I used this to build my first bike and it came together quite easliy. I wanted the 11-32 for the steep climbs where I live. It is as smooth as Shimano advertizes. Also for the new 6800 groupset I have the following to say. With the 11-32 the med cage derailluer is needed and was hard to get one but it works great. I had the 6700 components and I have to say the new 6800 brakes are significantly more powerful. The brake/shift lever shape/reach/ease of use are a big improvement over the 6700 and I liked my 6700's. The 6800 front shift has a small chain ring trim which I do not like and it does not seem to be needed. It just creates more operating but it is not a show stopper. The cables that come with the shifters were too small for my 62cm frame so I had to use a set of Jagwire and they work well. Bottom line; if you have 6700 now and do not need a 32t cog then stick with 6700. If you want to make big hills a lot easier go with the 6800 and 11-32 plus you get all the benefits of the powerful brakes, and the fantastic feel/comfort of the shift levers. If you are buying new because you have to get the 6800 over the 6700.
