The XT M8000 series of components are the components of adventure. Rider, meet the most technologically advanced XT crankset ever.Through Shimano's proven Hollowtech ll technology, the XT M8000 Crankarms receive a shot of stiffness and more weight savings. Additionally, the asymmetrical bolt pattern strategically places the strength spots where the most pedal force is exerted, providing more stability and trail-crushing responsiveness. Shimano XT 11-speed cranks turn on an updated bottom bracket that reduces both the weight and bearing drag, while improving its performance in muddy conditions.

The 2x11 (double) model of the XT M8000 crankset rethinks the approach to two rings with Rhythm Step Technology, carefully selecting and expanding the range of gears to maintain a better cadence when paired with an 11-40T cassette. The chainrings are precisely carved to optimize the teeth for the specific 2x11 chainwheel load, both improving chain retention and prolonging the lifespan of the teeth. All in all, with a double crankset, you'll get a very optimized gear spread over the equivalent 1x11 or 1x12 technology without huge steps between gears.
