Shimano XT M785 Quick Release

Shimano XT M785 Quick Release Skewer

The Shimano XT M785 QR Skewer is based on the internal cam design created by Tullio Campagnolo many years ago. An internal cam is completely shielded from contamination, increasing the life of the skewer. It will also provide vastly more clamping force, holding your wheel tighter than "lightweight" external cam skewers. Pair this cam design with a durable steel shaft, and you’ve got a reliable skewer for both mountain and cyclocross.

Much better than external cam designs
My disc brake road bike came with external cam skewers. I replaced them with Shimano skewers. The Shimanos work more smoothly, and clamp down tighter than the other external type.

Skewer broke at the threads.
Used these on a single speed setup. Worked great for awhile then it broke at the threads. Went DT Swiss and never looked back!
