Comments about Shimano XT FC-M780 Crankset:

Replaced my original crankset on my '94 Trek 7000. Easy to install with included upgraded bottom bracket. Recommend getting the tool to help installation of the bottom bracket if you don't already have one. Crankset works great - easy to install. Shifts clean and smooth without any real adjustment to the front derailleur.

Comments about Shimano XT FC-M780 Crankset:

I used this to upgrade my '94 Trek 7000 which was STILL running on the original crankset. The Hollowtech II bottom bracket was easy to install, and the crankset went on smoothly without any issues. Everything lined right up to the front derailleur with only a minor cable adjustment required. This crankset feels great and shifts so nicely. It added enjoyment to the ride and I know I can put a few thousand more miles on my old steed. I also got the bottom bracket tool to make things easy and recommend adding it to your toolbox if you don't already have one when buying this item.

Comments about Shimano XT FC-M780 Crankset:

Easy to install except shimano does not include the tool for installing the fixing nut. This tool costs less than 25 cents to produce and should be included with the set for the price of the crankset. I'm frustrated that a company this size would expect you to buy this tool for 4 plus dollars plus shipping - I had to wait to install the cranks until I got the tool. Frown! The crankset is great. The bottom bracket is easy to install with the right tools. The directions are confusing as far as spacer placement so be ready to youtube this install. I replaced the cheap plastic fixing nut with an aluminum nut because I had to buy $35 dollars worth of stuff to get free shipping for the fixing nut tool not provided by shimano... I would advise an aluminum fixing nut because the plastic one provided doesn't install with a solid feel. It seems easy to strip or cross thread while installing. All in all these cranks are solid.

Have one teamed with KMC DLC chain on 29" MTB - use mainly the middle and small rings and one teamed with KMC DLC on 26" urban warrior - use mainly large & middle rings - several thousand miles on the urban warrior set - GT85 before each ride & good cleaning weekly - still flawless performance and no appreciable wear - excellent investment

Comments about Shimano XT FC-M780 Crankset:

XT line is as good as it gets short of the slight weight savings with XTR. This was part of a 3x9 to 3x10 upgrade to my urban warrior (Giant Trance MTB adapted for hostile pavement) - that's why I rated mountain components good for road use - lots of roadies eat my dust. Comes with bottom bracket bearings and spacers to fit 68 or 73 mm. Teamed with KMC DLC chain, XT shifters, derailleurs, and XTR cassette pulls smoothly and shifts are crisp and immediate - very nice!

Comments about Shimano XT FC-M780 Crankset:

Excellent crank, The usual from Shimano quality. Couldn't beat the price on this so I had to grab it. I'm running this XT crank with a Shimano XT cassette, XTR shadow plus derailleur, KMC Gold 10SL chain and XT trail pedals on a Giant XTC with XT B-spec. shifters. The crank is outstanding with this set of parts for me anyway. Zero issues and can't see anything coming up in the future with this set-up.
Thanks again to the staff at Jenson for the outstanding service, knowledge, pricing and attitude!
Keep up the great service and work guy's & gal's!

This was my most anticipated upgrade to my bike this year, and it did not let me down. Price very well, easy to install, weight is crazy light compared to the old cartridge bottom bracket, and shifts as smooth as a hot knife threw butter.

I ride both SRAM and shimano. Never have to worry about XT, as good as XTR but much less. Precise shifting, run XT on 4 out 9 bikes and love them.
