Comments about Shimano Ultegra 6700 Crankset:
Bought this to replace a Shimano Ultegra FC-6750 compact crankset that came on my Colnago CLX-2. I tried the compact for 6 months and just couldn't get used to it. Guess after riding my Colnago super for over 35yrs, I'm just too set in my ways to change from a 42-52 Campy Super Record. It was a snap to install since it uses the same bottom bracket. Be sure and get the Shimano Tl-Fc16 Installation Tool to set the proper preload on the left crank. The chainring bolts on the 6700 were tightened by a monkey at Shimano. I'm sure I would've broken my my standard torx wrench. Get the Park Tool Aws-7 Hex/Torx Y-Wrench and you'll have plenty of torque to loose those stubborn bolts!

Comments about Shimano Ultegra 6700 Crankset:
A lot of new bikes with Ultegra (or SRAM Rival) gruppo decide to cut costs and use FSA Gossamer cranksets. The problem is that this combo sometimes has issues when it comes to shifting, something I found out the hard way with my Cervelo P2. Whenever I would shift from the small ring to the big ring, there would often be a pause before the chain would make the jump. Sometimes I had to slow down my cadence for it to work while other times I had to try the shift again. So after a season and a half of annoyance I decided to pick up an Ultegra crankset and what a difference. The shift is much faster and more crisp and a never miss a shift any more.
In addition, I moved from a compact crank (the Gossamer) to a full crank (ultegra) and was quite happy. It took a little getting used to when riding up hill (I lost my two easiest gears) but it was so much nicer to no longer spin out on the downhills (especially when racing)
