I have used SRAM chains for more than 5 years and I don't know whay anyone would buy anything else. The chains are simple to install, lightweight and the powerlink gold makes for easy drivetrain maintenance. Nothing beats it.I concur with the other reviewer who stated that it will work with Shimano chains. I have always carried a spare powerlink and most recently a friend of mine had his chain drop between cassette and spokes in a way I have never seen before. Required breaking the shimano chain - not at the master link - and installing my spare. It worked and he didn't have to walk. He has since used the bike on a few rides with no flaws while he awaits his new drive components - including a SRAM chain.

Great link. I use it on shimano HG93 chain and no issues to date. Works perfectly!
I dont use any tool to remove link from chain.

I've used these for a couple of years and they've never let me down. Plus, chain maintenance is a breeze. They're cheap so I keep a couple around just in case.
This link fit my Shimano chain very good despite it is said is only for Sram chainwill have to see the longevity of this link.
It makes chain maintenance a piece of cake. I've only had one fail on a ride and it failed because my freehub locked up. I'm a big guy; if these were weak they would fail on me.
Happy to use them. However, you should not expect them to last forever. Single use works for me so I've been happy.

Having snapped chains and swapped out alot of them, the power link is clearly indispensable. Yes you will have to size your chain after you pull it from the packaging, but having the link means not having to fool with a tool after breaking a chain or just doing an install, or pulling the chain off for maintenance or what ever, awesome product. Good price too.
I was skeptical that this SRAM product would work with my Shimano chain, but it HAS. I'm no light weight either (225 lbs. without armour). To be fair, I've only subjected this set up to LIGHT freeriding, but so far so good!The ease with which you can remove your chain after installing this device really helps you to stop putting-off that chain cleaning you know you should be doing!(And it's nice to stop paying for Shimano's buck-a-shot replacement pins!)
very good i've broken a few but its mostly because of landing wrong or putting to much pressure on the master links very pleased with the product
