I wanted to use modern stems on my older bike that uses a quill-type stem. This adapter looks great and works great too.
Love it! Solved my quilled-to-threadless handlebar problem.
Overall OK but I have the experience and tools for minor modifications, as upgrading vintage road bikes requires. I would recommend this to anyone upgrading an old bike as long as they know minor mods may be required.
There is no question that this DOES fit a 22.2 mm fork with no problemThis stem is quite long, and I actually had to trim the bottom to be able to insert it as far as I wanted.
This product came as described and was put to immediate use without any issues. It is a solid stem adapter and seems to be working great so far.
I tried to fit this adapter into the 1" threaded headset on the Cannondale, but it was just a bit too wide to fit in there. The adapter claims to be 22.2 but it's definitely a bit wider than the old 22.2 quill on the bike. It's really unfortunate because it feels pretty solid and has a good finish.
