Kore wanted a technically advanced stem that was strong enough for your gravity oriented bike, but light enough to ride all-mountain. With the Kore Repute Stem they started out with aerospace grade aluminum and CNC machined the stem until they were satisfied that they produced a stem that would be ready for the most extreme rides. If you want a short, strong, light and good looking stem to affix your bars to your rig, this is probably the best bang for the buck from a name brand component manufacturer. I thought I wanted my stem as short as possible so I got the 35mm, it's short! I'm probably gonna buy the 50mm and return the 35mm - my bad!
