I bought these a couple months ago because i realized my pedays were garbage for downhill/AM, quality is decent, pins grip very well, i took mine apart and loctited the removeable pins just in case, i have already ripped one of the stationary pins out and removed a fair amount of paint. overall they spin nice but not tooo freely, so they feel controlled, i wouldnt reccomend them for someone trying save effeciency, but for the bumpy stuff these work great, even with half worn out skate shoes.

I put these pedals on an older mountain bike that I use three or four times a week in the summer on easy bike trails. The seal on the left pedal keeps popping out and I have to keep pushing it back in. Plus, the pins tear up the bottom of my shoes. In addition, the pedals hardly spin and I feel like they are slowing me down. I like my cheap SNAFU pedals on my newer mountain bike much better.

Comments about Sun Ringle Zuzu Pedals:
I wear hiking-type shoes with agressive lugs on the bottom. So, they really grip/lock-in with these Pedals. No slip or roll-over even in muddy/wet conditions. I went from SPD to these and really enjoy the freedom to "dab" when needed. But these pedals grip my feet so well, that I almost feel like I'm clipped in. The next best thing to being clipped in, but safer.

I've had these on my AM bike for about a year now and they are doing far better than expected. A little on the heavy side but aside from that they're simply great pedals for the money.

I've been using these for about 8+ years now on my GT Avalanche. I'm only a casual weekend mountain biker, so I don't claim to have as many miles on them as the hardcore riders....But.... When it comes to durability, I haven't found anything better. Aside from hitting rocks and such, I have left my bike in some pretty harsh weather over the years (not by choice)... rain, snow, and freezing temps. These will destroy bearings faster than anything, even sealed ones. But to this day, they still spin as smooth as the day I got them. Sadly, I'll be swapping them out for clip peddles due to constant nagging from friends... (Well, I could just keep the peddles and get new friends...)

Comments about Sun Ringle Zuzu Pedals:
Aweseom pedals. They have a ton of pins on each side. Most pedals have 8 pins or so, usually two up front and back then a few on the side. These have 4 front and back and like 14 overall on each side.... I have rode Odyssey pedals forever on bmx. These are much more grippy for sure. I use them for recreational singletrack mtb riding. Perfect. Don't beleive the hype and buy 150 dollar platforms for MTB. Grip is about the number of pins and your shoe.
The shape is a direct rippoff of the classic old school Shimano DX from like 1980. Its the classic BMX platform shape. They aren't bulky so I'm not sure if they will be easy to break or not. I bit pedals into rocks a few times since getting them and no problems at all.

Great peddle for my mix of CC and Free riding. Recommend shin guards.

These are good pedals for the money. Good grip especially if you have sticky sole shoes.

Bought these 10 years ago, over 9000 miles, mostly commuting though. Still holding up fine, missing 2 pins, paint is mostly worn off, slight bit of play but still spinning good. These are the best value for flats, great grip, perfect size but not the lightest. I recommend these...

Nice pedals, a bit on the heavy side, but not a biggy. Good grip with the studs. Look good!
