Purchased this freewheel for a rebuild project. It did not work in that application-- I was switching from 6 to 7 speeds and this freewheel hung too far over the hub. This is a problem with the hub, not the freewheel. Great for inexpensive repairs on old bikes, especially when the bikes are on the heavy side to start with. I held back a star because it's heavier than it has to be, but at this price you take what you get. The rings are cross drilled, and the 7 speed version weighed out on my postal scale at 460 grams. A standard 12 spline shimano tool fits it.
