The Surly Krampus has been dubbed the “29+” due to being able to handle 3” tires. The larger tires increase traction and add some degree of float. The Krampus’s frame (geometry, tubing diameter, and thickness) were designed with a long top tube and as short of a rear end as possible. This, in combination with the big, wide tires, results in a superior amount of rolling inertia and grip. The Krampus rolls fast, holds speed, and corners like it’s on rails.
