I tried these as an experiment. I didn't expect they would work out, but I really like them! I've been road riding for 27 years (racing and all that) and recently built a MTB bike for the road (to slow me down, to be safer and for hard training). I really like the way these modulate brake feel (I have strong V-brakes). They make braking far more progressive and controllable; they don't cause any loss of braking power. In fact I would not go back to riding without them.

I bought this thinking the block is a barrel adjuster but it's a spring. After the pads make contact there is still more travel left in the levers to compress the spring. I eventually removed them and went back to the original noodle as I preferred modulation with my hand instead of my hand and a spring.
