I'm usually between sizes. Depending on the brand, I could be a 30 or 32" waist. Since I read reviews of these being larger than the size chart recommends, I went with the Small (28-30). I can barely button these! This actually surprises me since most technical outdoor clothing is usually quite large in comparison to street wear. I'd say they are true to size, if not a bit on the small size. Not sure if I'll be able to ride in these, as they are so tight around my hips

Bought these shorts since they were on sale. Tried them on as soon as they arrived and loved them. I ordered sizr Large, I'm 6'2, and they fit perfect. Went out for a ride and they were very comfortable.

Sizing way too big. Bought large-- I weigh 185 with a 34 inch waist but usually need room in the seat. Usually large sizes fit fine. These were so big i had to have adjustments all the way tight and still needed a belt.
Liner is attached to shorts and cannot be detached
unless loops are cut-- no way to button or unbutton otherwise--result is that short liner gets easily twisted.
Zipper on pocket broke on first use-- very disappointing on a north face product

Purchased smalls for my 9 year old son (he is 5'3") and they fit well. Liked them enough to purchase my own pair. Like the material and pockets. One pocket is for a MP3 player/phone with a hole for stringing earbuds. I do not ride with earbuds as I am concerned about safety and hearing what is going on around me. Not sure how I would string earbuds from my thigh to my ear without jerking them off my ears. So that pocket makes an additional holder. Overall I am very happy plus they came with a chamios that can be removed.

I've always bought $50 riding shorts, but tried these since they were on sale. I will be getting another pair - they are worth the $.
Adjustable waist is good, pockets that make sense for a mountain biker.
My small complaints being - unremovable liner, and the pad itself is a bit bulky.
