Comments about Chrome Womans Vanya Knicker:
I bought these knickers for bike commuting on days when it's in the 40s and 50s. I bike a 5-6 mile route to work.
The pants are well-made and have lots of good features. They're water-resistant, they have good pockets, and generally I'd consider them stylish as sportswear goes. I bought the black color and they're a nice shade of charcoal (not black per se).
Here are the three things I'm not so happy about:
1. The pants are very low cut. Perhaps I have more of a "bedunkadunk" than others, so I'd suggest buying these only if you don't have much of a backside.
2. I'm 5'2" and the length of the pant is nice while I'm standing, but comes awfully close to the chain while riding. Someone with longer legs shouldn't have an issue, or if your bike has a chain guard then they should be fine no matter what your height is.
3. The chamois is basically non-existent. Since this is marketed as a commuter pant, they're not pretending that this is comfortable for long rides, but I certainly wouldn't ride for more than 5 miles or 30 minutes in these unless you want saddle soreness.
All in all, I think it's a very good quality pant and I'd recommend them for people who have short commutes, are taller than 5'2", and don't have much of a backside. For me, I'll probably end up using them more for hiking than biking because of the length and how low-cut they are.
