We use 700x28 gatorskins on our tandem-nothing else will hold up to the combined weight and puncture resistance. The wire bead tire is heavy, but that's the price you pay for the durability. Another advantage is that these tires will holds a shape when flat......I rode 6 miles home once on a completely flat tire and reused it! Not smart to do , but nice to know that I could.

I don't see how this tire is any more puncture resistant than the rest. I've ridden on a 700x25 for just about 400 miles now and have gotten 4 flats, to my riding partners zero flats (he's on old Conti Grand Prixs.) First flat was glass that cut through all plies and the tube...I didn't even see the glass. Second was I'm not sure what. Third and fourth were about 10 thorns. Unbelievable amount of flats and the tire looks like hell. I don't think I'll ever buy this tire again. Maybe they forgot the gatorskin layer??

Got this tire because I was tired of getting flat tires. Sometimes it's a simple annoyance to get a flat, sometimes it's an hour walk home because there are no more patches left. High price is worth it to not have to walk home.

The ultimate road training tire.
I have used a 25c set on New England roads for nearly 4k miles without a flat (I rotate the front and rear tires every 1k miles).
They are heavy, but superbly dependable.
Any tire, when ridden smartly, can last a long time. With these things, however, you can ride with abandon and without worry.

Rode a set of these for over 1500 miles. Never had any flat problems with them (at least that were the tire's fault). Not the fastest rolling tire but good for training and normal knock around use.

Just over 600 miles on these tires so far this years and they look like new. Did a century from Redmond to Bellingham Washington on some rough farm roads, pothole and through broken glass without a single flat!

Continental Gator Skin deliver their promise of puncture free and lasting performance. They are asthectic as well especially the red netting on side walls looks spectacular. Mounting them on mavic askium rims was very smooth. If you are tired of constant breakdowns due to punctures then do try these; do ensure 2 things - rims have a good tape (Velox Rim tapes are gr8)and tyre pressure is around 98~100 for a 70 kg rider.
