I've been running these on my mountain bike for the past 4-5 years and I love 'em. I got some for all my kids' bikes too. They add a small amount of weight but the savings in puncture protection has been worth it. I have found that tubes will eventually develop a slow leak after six months or so of frequent riding from long term friction between the tube and the liner...still one flat every six months or more I can deal with!

wasted line

They are very stiff and end up pinching tube. Spend the extra money and go tableless. This was a waste of time and money.

Cut into tube

Pros

  • Eliminated Flats

Cons

  • Cut Tube

Best Uses

Comments about Slime Tire Liners:

A buddy and I Installed these to ride Big Bend Area of Texas. One of them cut a tube (you could see where the end of the liner rubbed the tube and finally cut it.) Had few flats - 3 total for the week, including the cut tube due to the liner, and one due to a cut tire, so may have saved some flats due to thorns and sharp rocks.

      Prevents Flat Tires

          Comments about Slime Tire Liners:

I was getting tire punctures every other ride and was getting tired of patching and replacing tubes. Since I put Slime Tire liners my tubes last many rides before a puncture or blow out. They are easy to install and work great. I don't even notice they are there except that my tires don't go flat. I mostly ride single track and cross country.

          Spared some flats

          Comments about Slime Tire Liners:

I trimmed the 26" size to fit 20" wheeled folding commuter bike. Riding in NYC you always have road debris and while these cannot guarantee, they help. When inevitable did happen, while inspecting the tire during repair, I could see tiny shards or glass and cuts that the liners prevented me from flatting from.

These things work, better tnan the thick tubes and lighter also. And they work better than any thorn protective tires that I have tried.

          Comments about Slime Tire Liners:

i ran my front tire directly into a organ pipe cactus out in front of my house pulling my bike out of my JEEP after a ride last week and the 3 inch cactus spines didn't even have a chance. i was really surprised how well these liners help. it's great extra protection, especially when used with Slime tubes out here in the Southern Arizona desert

          Comments about Slime Tire Liners:

Very good product. I had been plagued with flats until installing this product, and some thicker tubes. Excelent results. I prefere a wider version, but it is not available.
