Because of the tremendous force needed to remove chain pins, our Screw Type Chain Tool is now made from investment cast tool steel. Along with superior strength and durability, the CT-3 features a handy "loosening shelf" to remedy stiff links after reassembly. The fine thread and comfortable size enable easy removal of even the toughest chain pins. Features a replaceable pin, the CTP. Like all Park Tool Chain Tools, its Hyperglide compatible. WORKS GREAT WITH 9 SPEED CHAINS

Comments about Park Tool Park CT-3 Chain Tool:
I used to have a smaller cheaper version made by another company. I bought this chain tool recently and I have not regretted it. I do not use it often but when I do I am glad I have it. It is easy to break and reconnect any chain, it provides excellent leverage, and it will easily last a life time. Steer clear of the cheaper alternatives and buy this tool

Comments about Park Tool Park CT-3 Chain Tool:
This is a great tool, does what its supposed to, and the loosening shelf is wonderful. It never felt right to be heaving on a newly connected chain just to make it move smoothly after installation, and with this you don't have to.
Four stars only because it seems a bit pricey, but the quality is there.
Comments about Park Tool Park CT-3 Chain Tool:
I think this is good for someone who works on bikes often in a home shop and can appreciate a quality tool.
Comments about Park Tool Park CT-3 Chain Tool:
this is one of those things I'm glad I have, but I'm not sure I would buy again. It's the best chain tool I've ever used, but I'm comparing it to a $2 Rivoli. The long handles with smooth, plastic-coated ends make breaking and reconnecting chains a lot easier. There is a circlip stop on the thread that keeps you from pushing the pin all the way out (wish I had that years ago when I was learning wrenching), and there is a shelf for loosening tight links. would be a great tool that I'd reccomend in a heartbeat, if it where $20.
