The bag is nice but too small. I can't fit anything but my phone and keys in it and it barely fits that. Also the adjustable straps that hang on the seat rails move when I'm riding on trails so the bag is sagging when I'm done riding.
It works good when on the road, it doesn't loosen up. Not for mountain biking.

4: It would likely not be good for mtn biking. I think it would barely fit a 29er tire.

Bought this for myself for mountain biking but it was too small. So I gave it to my son for use on his fixie road bike.
It fits a 700c tube, small multi-tool, patch kit, tire lever, a small 15mm wrench and a Co2. It sets up easy and stays put.
He has even gotten lots of compliments on it.

Expandable came in handy for longer rides to store bars. Too bad it broke i really liked it. Would hesitate getting another because of that.

I think this is an excellent bag for the money, and if you don't use the bag as a fanny-pack, at least the side straps have zippered compartments. Bag also comes with a yellow rain cover which is stored in the mesh compartment in the top.
