I converted my 4 bikes (3mtn and one cx) to Stan's this summer and after 6 months of using it, I have mixed feelings. One the one hand, it does seal small pinhole leaks from thorns well when the sealant is fresh. On the other hand, it's one giant pain in the rear to deal with on the whole. There's a definite learning curve with this stuff that I'm getting pretty sick of. Some tires work well with it, others don't. It's always a gamble as to what will seal up and what won't. Mounting tires can be easy or a real pain and forget doing a quick tire swap because nothing's easy whe it comes to S(a)tan's. I've had minor sidewall abrasions that wouldn't faze a tubed tire not seal up and ended up putting a tube in on the trail which is a slimy mess. I've had the rediculously expensive rim strips fail at the valve several times while trying to air them up on the trail...apparently you're not supposed to use a micor pump with these so you better carry co2. In the dry climate that I live in (Colorado) the sealant dries out in about a month and needs to be refilled so you're always buying sealant. Yes, you will avoid pinch flats and can run lower pressures ( a little) but go too low and the tires can 'burp' which is when the bead unseats and lets all the air out. I've had this stuff fail on me in races which is really frustrating. I'm kind of torn when it comes to Stan's...I don't really know that it's better than tubes. If you live in an area with lots of thorns (like I do) then it may be worth it. You can run lower pressures for increased traction and a smoother ride (love it on the cx bike) but it's really high maintenance and when it fails on the trail, you're putting a tube in anyway. I keep swearing that I'm going back to tubes but I haven't because I think that the advantages barely outweigh the disadvantages. This is a good idea but it's not the be-all, end-all of anything. One thing that I'd like to try and what may end up being the best compromise is to run tubes with Stan's sealant inside.

Comments about Stan's No Tubes Conversion Kits:
Stans is a must if you ride anywhere. Lighter than a tube, and thorns were a fear from the past. The kit pays for itself with the lack of tubes and patches normally bought every few rides.

Comments about Stan's No Tubes Conversion Kits:
Initially I was concern about how easy could be to install it (I'm one handed man) but it was very easy to install it at the very first time. I live in a semidesertic area and here are a lot of great thorns and is usual had a puncture every two or three rides, even if you drive only on tracks and never leave them to explore new paths. Now I can be careless about leave the track and explore every new path I found. This sealant works really fast and never lost air pressure. Now I do not lost my time in a mountain changing tubes and travel very light because do not need to carry tubes or anything to fix them. This is the best you can do to enjoy your rides!

Comments about Stan's No Tubes Conversion Kits:
This stuff may prevent flats due to punctures, but it sure doesn't hold air on its own (longer than 24 hours)!
After trying to install this junk (they wouldn't let me use the adjectives I wanted) myself on my 26" WTBs with Kenda Nevegals and not being able to even get the tires to inflate, I finally took it to the "experts" at my bike shop. After fooling with it for a 1/2 day, they were finally able to inflate the tires and I tried it on the trails. OK, fine.
The next morning when I got up and tried to go ride again, I found both my tires were flat - so flat they wouldn't re-seat on the rims! Back to the bike shop I went and after another couple hours of messing with it (involving, no joke, 4 guys), they were able to get them seated and inflated.
They informed me that it was commonplace for Stan's to leak - but after only 1 day!?! Ridiculous.
I have now switched back to good ol' tubes. Lesson learned about this rip-off product.

Comments about Stan's No Tubes Conversion Kits:
Love this product. Decided to go tubeless after numerous flats due to low air pressure and mild jumps. I'm so glad I did, it took about 5 mins per rim & tire to install did need an air compressor (mavic xm 319 rims not tubeless ready) to get the tires (schwalbe nobby nic & rocket Ron) to seat the tires on the bead and I was ready to ride. Haven't loss any tire pressure had a few punctures rocket Ron's are a bit weak but the sealant works wonders. Believe the hype and go tubeless you will not regret it. I run 19 psi front and 22 psi rear and my commencal am couldn't grip the ground any better.
Comments about Stan's No Tubes Conversion Kits:
It may be tempting to concoct your own home brewed solution but just get the real thing and save the headaches of a ghetto system. This one works great when set-up correctly. Some say it's a bit costly but this should last you for years to come so just get it and go tubeless!

I use it for 29er cross country.
It actually works great for me.
I could improve my ride lowering air pressure with this kit.
It's cost is expensive against parts but still cheaper than UST tubeless wheel and tires.
