This sleek new CNC rim brake pivots on sealed cartridge bearings so you’ll get a smooth, effortless stop. In fact, its stopping power will amaze even disc brake devotees. It also has a lefty/righty reversible noodle which allows you to route the cable from, you guessed it, the left or right lever. Beautifully sculpted from solid aluminum billet, it’s very lightweight - just as youd expect from Avid.

i really dont know what are better. the xtr or the black ops. i would have to say the black ops are a little easier to adjust. very light and sexy looking brake with great stopping power. all this hype about disc and how they are superior to v brakes is bull. as far as i am concerned, if you need more stopping power than what v brakes can offer, then you are just going too slow.
So far avid brake products have left a good taste in my mouth. I really don't like linear pull brakes. But this cnc machined masterpiece was the easiest to set up. The spring tension screws are allen head and very predictable to adjust. After 20 pulls of the brake one more adjustment of the spring tension screws was needed. After that, this brake centers perfectly. The stopping power is very strong and linear. It has a very smooth and precise feel to it. Brake modulation is very linear.
Make this brakes without the reversable noodle! with all the other features like machined arms and sealed cartriges. Bla, Bla ,Bla...
This are the best v-brakes money can buy, I also own a pair of XTR, and I like this ones better, they have way better feel.
