Great brake for the price. However, I would have gone with the Avid Single Digit 7 if they came in silver as well as black as it has the better noodle.
I bought these brakes to use in the front of my Cannodale F700. I was already running an older (2001) Deore V-brake in the back. The new Deore was to replace the flexy stock Avids that were still on the bike. I also wanted a brake that had more of an arc to it as I wanted to run a wider tire in the front. To my surprise, the design of the newer Deore brake was actually beefier (the arms are a bit thicker around the base) than the older one I’d already had experience with. This translates to a very stiff feel and great braking. I can’t see spending a lot more on fancier V-Brakes. These are easy to set-up and get the job done very well.
