Based on the very popular 26” WTB WeirWolf racing tire, WTB has transferred the technology and tread to the 29” world. Originally conceived in 2002, the re-designed WeirWolf tire from WTB is a product of 5 years development between top endurance downhiller Mark Weir and WTB chief designer Mark Slate. The product is a tire with unparalleled grip and predictability at any lean angle. The terraced side knobs feature an advanced progressive design. The tread is soft on initial turn-in and conforms to the terrain. The faster the turn-in the firmer the knobs become. The TCS (tubeless compatible design) offer the benefits of tubeless design without the weight penalty. The WeirWolf is at home on all big mountain rides.

Comments about WTB Weirwolf LT TCS Tubeless 29Er Tire:

I love having this tire up front to take some of the wind out of our rocky trails in central AZ. Contrary to another review in this section, these tires DO mount to Stan's Flow rims, however it's a tight fit. I know, because I'm on my third set of tires on 29'r rims. I've also had these on my 26'r and it's also a great tire...the 26'r goes onto a Flow pretty easy.

Comments about WTB Weirwolf LT TCS Tubeless 29Er Tire:

I have a set of these, but 26", on another one
of my bikes and they are awesome. So, I thought I
would get some for my new 29" hardtail. However,
I just cannot get them to seat properly on the rims.
The bike is a Scott 950, with Syncros XC-49 rims.
No matter what I do, I cannot get them to seat well. I inevitably end up with a bulge near the valve. I know that they are tubeless compatible, but, at present, I am not running tubeless. But, I did check at the manufacturer's website and they said that they were also compatible with using tubes. So, perhaps in the future, if I go tubeless, or I change my rims, these may be useful. But, not at present. It's a pity, as I am very happy with the Weirwolf tires on my other bike.

These tires will not fit ZTR Flow 29er rims. Big bummer. A buddy of mine also had the same problem. I contacted WTB and they were super helpful but ultimately the tires can't be used on the Flows. Maybe in the future they be compatible. They look awesome and hopefully I can try Them in the future.
