Great product, using this on a Shimano 9spd chain that runs on a Sram PG-970 cassette. No shifting or chain problems what so ever. Stays secure due to the design but not a pain disassemble either.

Despite what they say, I have found the Wippermann link works fine with Shimano chains too; as pin diameters and plate thicknesses are pretty much to a standard, these probably fit most anything, and I can't see why not, as long as they fit well. I ALWAYS carry one in my seatbag and have used it for emergency repair of friend's bikes - a lot lighter and faster than a chain tool. In fact, I carry two; one for me and one for the other guy.
