The Yeti ASR 5 carbon is the next generation of the ASR family. Yeti took the tight handling characteristics of the shorter travel AS-R and bumped up the travel to 5”. This transformed the bike into an amazingly versatile all- mountain bike. The ASR 5 carbon is lightweight enough to be a cross country race bike, but is capable of hitting steep gnarly trails. Yeti coupled their extensive carbon fiber experience with their award- winning, super efficient, optimized Active Suspension design, and created the perfect “all-in-one” bike.
Part of the secret of this bike is the balance. Most notably, the carbon fiber frame is light weight, yet extremely rugged. The front and rear suspension are perfectly tuned. Yeti engineered it to ride a bit stiffer in the mid- stroke of the travel. This gives it a similar feel as sport- tuned suspension on a performance car. You can feel the trail so the bike has a lively, aggressive feel on the trail. The low bottom bracket and neutral steering geometry keep the bike controlled and predictable when you bring it up to speed and it carves turns extremely well- due in part to the amazing stiffness of the frame.
To add the icing on the cake, and jar full of cherries, the Yeti ASR 5 Carbon is paired with performance oriented Fox suspension and SRAM components. To provide the yin- yang balance, the Fox Float fork was paired with the Fox RP23 rear shock. Together, they provide 5” of travel to navigate the fierce hills and mellow out the bumpy trails. The full 10 speed SRAM drivetrain provides thirty gears to choose from, so you’ll always have the perfect gearing for whatever terrain you’re riding. SRAM X7 shifters paired with the SRAM S1000 crankset, X7 front derailleur, and SRAM X9 rear derailleur provide crisp clean shifting. The Avid Elixir 5 brakes will slow your roll down the mountain, and provide peace at mind, when navigating new trails. A cornucopia of goodies litters the bike from wheel to wheel, and provides you with a joyful ride. Schwalbe tires, a WTB saddle, and DT Swiss wheels round out this incredible package.
