The visually stunning lines and sculpted tubeset of the SB-66 will capture your attention like love-at-first-sight.  As you move in closer for a better look you’ll begin to notice this isn’t just another single pivot trail bike but an innovative suspension design called Switch Technology.  The oversized main pivot actually contains a second pivot (lower pivot of the swing arm) that is offset within the main.  This eccentric mechanism switches direction as the bike moves through its travel creating an optimized wheel path without unexpected spikes or wallows.

At the beginning of the travel the eccentric link is rotating in a rearward direction, guiding the lower pivot of the swing arm rearward.  This counter-clockwise motion coupled with the initial rearward wheel path creates an excellent pedaling platform, making the SB-66 pedal and climb crisply without sacrificing small bump sensitivity.  The mid stroke has a flat linear shape, creating a large “sweet spot”, allowing the suspension to react better to bigger hits.  Once the travel reaches about 100mm, the eccentric link starts to rotate in the forward direction.  This means the rate at which the chain stay grows drops off quickly, allowing the suspension to work independently of chain forces. Because the suspension isn’t being impeded by chain growth in the last third of the travel, the smooth feel in the middle continues all the way to full compression without a harsh bottom out feeling.

Every detail on the SB-66 screams, “Ride me!” From the Kashima coated Fox suspension to the unibody frame construction.  Even small details like an external splined bb shell, tapered headtube and Enduro Max bearings make the difference.  The components have been carefully The visually stunning lines and sculpted tubeset of the SB-66 will capture your attention like love-at-first-sight.

Comments about Yeti Cycles Yeti SB-66 Alloy Enduro Bike 2011:

I have owned and ridden several suspension bikes over the past two decades. Never liked them because there were toomany drawbacks. I remained a hardtail rider. I decided to try it again. I'm happy. This bike truely works extremely well on technical single track. It eats trails alive and can travel at amazing speeds. Climbs well too.

Comments about Yeti Cycles Yeti SB-66 Alloy Enduro Bike 2011:

Have 2 rides in on my new Yeti SB66 Enduro. Rides like a dream! Climbs very efficiently and screams down hill. For the suspension set up, components, and frame quality; I don't think there is another bike that comes close at this price point. I loved my Rocky Mountain Slayer SXC 30, but this blows it away!

Comments about Yeti Cycles Yeti SB-66 Alloy Enduro Bike 2011:

that bike is so efficient. the lateral stiffness allows it to be really fast pedaller, but you re still riding a 6" travel bike. it s the perfect combination of an ASR 5 and a 575.
don t be scared about the weight, it doesn t feel heavy ever.
if you can t afford other bike, this is THE bike to do it all.

Comments about Yeti Cycles Yeti SB-66 Alloy Enduro Bike 2011:

This is hands down the best bike I've ever ridden. I could go on and on about how great it is. If you look up other reviews online that make it sound too good to be true, it not, this bike is really THAT good. The only possible con is that you won't get whatever else it is your supposed to do done, because you'll be spending too much time riding. I was almost tempted to spend more and get the next component group up. Having ridden both bikes I'm glad I stuck to the enduro; the difference in performance wasn't worth the extra money for me. Buy this bike, you will not be disappointed!
