Zipp enjoy a wonderful reputation for amazingly lightweight and slippery carbon road wheels, deservedly so. But what do you use when you're not racing, and your training days find you on terrible roads or even off-pavement? Don't wreck your race-day wheels and tubular tires with day-to-day usage. Save them for race day.
Zipp created the 101 wheel to address this need. It's a traditional clincher to start, so it's easy to change a tube in the unfortunate event of a flat. And it uses a durable 30mm deep aluminum rim extrusion instead of carbon to stand up to day in, day out training by high mileage athletes.
This wheel is hand-laced up with Zipp's 188 hubs using Sapim CX Ray spokes in Zipp's Indianapolis, IN facility.
