Good light ...However, Niterider needs to improve on the battery and incorpoprate a charging protection system to protect during charging OR look to a better battery for powering the light!!
Product Used For: 2 or More Years
Product Strengths:Bright light, provides good lightning for early morning rides and easy to mount.
Product Weaknesses:The Nicad battery system is worthless, after about 2 years the battery will only hold a 1 hr charge and you have to replace the battery(which is over priced!!)

I am fortunate to live close to work and commute daily. This time of year in the northeast its dark going to and leaving work.
I have found that if I do not set the light at the right angle it will blind oncoming pedestrians. Not a bike friendly thing so an easy adjustment was made.
I have owned and used an ELLIPSOID halogen bike light for seven years, and decided to upgrade. I have found this to be a bright move.
The " BUZ " about overcharging. By setting the timer to only turn off, I cannot forget and overcharge. I use a simple very common yard sail clock timer with little pins for setting the on and of times, one set of pins turns the timer on the other set turns the timer off. I discarded the on pins.
Product Used For: 1 Month
Product Strengths:Simple bright easy to mount, remove. Just a good light without fancy options equals less to go wrong. Also like the idea of having a choice of 5, 10, 15 watt replacement bulbs.
Product Weaknesses:None. It is and does as advertised.
My Bike:Mongoose mountain. This bike has an unconventional frame that uses a rectangular horizontal tube ware the battery must mount. To my surprise the battery strap has sufficient length to hold the battery in place and solid.

Overall very satisfied, but now I need a new battery. I might check the market and see if I can find a comparable light with a less needy battery before I shell out $75 for a new one. One that could very well be ruined after another innocent brain fart.
Product Used For: 2 or More Years
Product Strengths:This is a very durable light with a very long bulb life. In 3+ years I have not had to replace it. Easy handle bar mounting or helmet. Very Bright
Product Weaknesses:The damn battery! It takes too long to charge and has no over charge protection. I've been using a wall outlet timer that automatically shuts it off after the allotted charge time. A process that has worked well over the years. However, after 3+ years doing this, it finally happened. I forgot to unplug it the next morning and didn't remember until it had gone thru two charge cycles. Now the battery is shot. DAMN IT NiteRider!!! This is the 21st century! We can send probes to Mars but you can't develop a battery that doesn't require a full time nanny?!?!?!

Great price. Great product if you wanna deal with the battery. It is way brighter than those L.E.D. lights. Gets kinda warm though. You have to discharge and racharge the battery 10 times before it reaches it's full potential. If you bench test it, make sure you have a fan on it to keep it cool. Only lasted me about 1.5 hours on the first charge. supposed to be 2 hours 20 min.
Product Used For: 1 Month
Product Strengths:ummm.... it's bright, fairly cheap... especially compared to some of those H.I.D. lights. Should be under $100, if you pay more you got jipped. Built very tough. Easy to install. The light can be upgraded from a 10 watt to a 15 watt. This makes for even more light but consumes battery power quicker.
Product Weaknesses:The battery!!! it's a pain to measure the time you use the battery and then charge it accordingly. You can't just leave it, no! no! you gotta treat it like a baby and unplug it before it overcharges. There's a chart in the back of the manual that you have to look at to find the right charge time according to how long you used it. I have enough kids in my house to take care of.
My Bike:highly upgraded trek 4300
