Well, it's not really 'big', not even as large as the Zinn books. I have been doing basic maintenence (adjusting brakes, derailleurs, etc.) on my bikes for a long time, and have recently decided to start doing more in-depth type repairs. I did pick up a few tips from this book, but overall, I would just rate it 'OK'. I guess I'm just going to have to break down and spend the cash on the Barnett's :)
Product Used For: 1 Month
Product Strengths:Contains photographs (wish they were larger). Covers both road and mountain bikes, although neither in great detail. Covers some maintenence items not found in similarly priced repair manuals, although leaves out others.
Product Weaknesses:Throughout the book, the text keeps refering to the Park website "for more detailed information." Hey, the whole idea of buying the book is so that you can have it with you in the garage (or wherever) while you're working on your bike! Along those lines, it also would have been nice if it had been spiral bound, so that it would lay flat on the work surface.
My Bike:Santa Cruz Blur, GT i-drive, Lemond Zurich.

Willie a Roadie from Pineapple Junction, Fl Usofa writes:
overall, not a bad deal... certainly not as detailed as more scholarly tomes on the subject of bicycle repair, but what the heck - it gets the job done, won't take up a lot of shelf space, and has some good step-by-steps on a wide variety of equipment - certainly a challenge in itself!
Product Used For: 1 Month
Product Strengths:lots of photographs and inexpensive, non-Park related tips on adjustment and maintenance!
Product Weaknesses:of course, Park tools are featured... considering the title might be subsidized perhaps it should be a few pesos less?
