Disappointed, but maybe it was just a bad chain. Not really sure why a pin would break on such a low-resistance gear ratio.
Product Used For: 3 Months
Product Strengths:Easy to link.
Product Weaknesses:Broke after a few rides. Installed the chain in February and didn't really ride the bike until mid-March. Only put maybe 50 miles on the chain. Pin broke on me while starting a steep climb in the lowest gear ratio (1-1) after about a minute of riding.
My Bike:Full suspension with SRAM x9/x0, deore lx crank.

I bought this chain hoping for a good quality product. But shortly after my ride started it snapped. I replaced the part that had bent which was the connector, so I thought it would be good. A short time after, it broke again and in a different place. Needless to say, I had to walk back to my car.
Product Used For: 1 Month
Product Strengths:Easy to install. Powerlink is nice.
Product Weaknesses:Chain failed after 20 miles of off-road riding.

I've buy this chain to replace a shimano HG and i'm very satisfied. Probably the most easy ton install, the powerlink is awesome. The chain is easy to keep clean and oiled. For sure, i'll buy it again!

I have the sram PC 990 and can not tell the difference between the 990 and the 971. I would buy this chain again. And also the powerlink is awsome and I will never go back to a shimano chain.

used for 1 month changed to this chain after having the odd problem with the hg 93. chain kept clean and oiled. used for compition and training during that month. Note I,m only 15 years old 65 kgs.
