This tire is perfect for the mountain bike that really doesn't leave the road or hard packed trail all that much. There's no sense in chewing up the huge crazy tread of an off-road tire while you're pulling the kiddie trailer down the paved road to the ice cream shop or doing your daily commute. These run great on the pavement due to the nearly continuous ridge down the center of the tire. Unlike slick's, though, there are still some knobbies along the outer edges to help out on grass, dirt roads, etc.
Product Used For: 6 Months
Product Strengths:More tread than a slick, but less than the gnarly offroad tires.
Product Weaknesses:Nothing, really.
My Bike:'95 Gary Fisher Tassajara

This is a good tire for trail riders and commuters who like to jump curbs go down steps cut through the grass etc... I wish MTB would beef them up a little and allow them to run at about 70 - 80 psi. Even though they are only rated up to 45 I've been running mine at 60 for almost 2 years and have had no blow outs. I had lots of flats at first b/c they are a thin tire but I put Mr Tuffy Tire Liners in them and have not had any trouble since.
If I had to guess I'd say I've put close to 4000 miles on them, and it is now time for a new set. I think they may have lasted longer had I not ran them over inflated the middle is what is waring thin.
Product Used For: 2 or More Years
Product Strengths:Durability / Traction
Product Weaknesses:PSI rating
My Bike:Trek Fuel 80 w/ some upgrades.
