Duro Road Presta Valve Tube

These Duro inner tubes come in two widths (20-25c & 35-43c) and in 3 different valve lengths, 33mm, 48mm, and 60mm. No matter the length of the valve, the low price remains the same. The 20-25c width is quite accomodating. These inner tubes can be used to tire widths between 18c and 25c. The larger 35-43c tubes are even more accomodating, and can be used in almost any cyclocross or larger road tire. That’s a huge range!

One thing we have discovered is that there are only a handful of bicycle inner tube manufacturers. Many, if not all inner tubes come from a small handful of suppliers in Asia. This essentially means that no matter the tube brand, we’re all riding the same tubes. This is great for you because you’ll be getting a high quality tube at a greatly reduced price. Nearly nowhere else can you buy an inner tube for such a low price!

Duro Inner Tubes are super inexpensive and super versatile. Varying valve length and a wide width range enable these 700c road inner tubes to be used in many applications. Whether it’s Road, Track or Fixed Gear, these tubes will work!

Great 700c tube for anyone who rides clinchers and has deep-V rims that require a long valve. I am using these on a 25c Vittoria tire. I have shallow rims, so I don't need the extra valve length, but at the price I can't complain there is no valve length option.

The best thing about these tubes is they come sealed in a bag! This means you can store them without having to worry about the rubber drying out and they stay fresh!

So far they've held up well. They're not the lightest tubes, but they're certaintly worthy of many miles of training and group rides.

I ordered four of the 48mm tubes and figured, hey, they are cheap, why not? Whoops...

Tube 1: Installed, pumped up, hit a pothole and flat. After inspection, it didn't seem to be a pinch, the seam just gave away and split.

Tube 2: This one was my fault, ran over something metal in the road riding in the dark. Oddly, I didn't see any puncture in my tire.

Tube 3: Got through my ride, noticed my tire was low. Pumped it up, flat over night. Check the tube, slow leak from the seam grrr...

Tube 4: I'm waiting to give this tube to someone I don't like

Cheaply made, unreliable tubes

Comments about Duro Road Presta Valve Tube:

On the plus side, these tubes are very cheap. However, they don't seem to have much in the way of quality control: of the 10 or so that I ordered, 3 tubes had defects at the valve stem that rendered them useless.

The tubes don't inflate consistently, either: if you use them on larger tires (25-28c), the area around the valve stem seems to inflate less than the rest of the tube, causing the tire to fill unevenly.

Over time, the tubes seem to invariably go flat—usually from failure around the valve stem.

Although it might seem like a good deal, spend a bit more for nicer tubes!

Junk rubber, poor quality

By MikeH

Pros

    Cons

    • Inconsistent Quality
    • Pop Easily
    • Thin

    Best Uses

Comments about Duro Road Presta Valve Tube:

Blowing these up outside of a tire, it was easy to see signs of low quality and inconsistency throughout the tube. Some sections would stretch and bulge more than others. The rubber feels thin in the stretchy areas -- more like balloon-rubber than any other (often cheap) tube I've used over 10's of k's of miles of riding. Just squeezing part of the tube by hand caused a tube to pop -- I've never done that before. Next one I then installed (again, I've done this dozens of times) also popped right away.

The low-quality is clear. Not worth the trouble or risk, even as a spare.

Comments about Duro Road Presta Valve Tube:

Don't hesitate to purchase this tube, assuming you don't mind a higher than average air loss. The tubes are incredibly durable. I'm 260 lbs. and haven't flatted in hundreds of miles with these in my 700x25 tires at 130-140 psi. My commute is pretty rough too... Tons of potholes! The only downside is they lose about 10 psi a week, more than I've had with other brands. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase these again though. The price concurs all!

Comments about Duro Road Presta Valve Tube:

Purchased these tubes because they are advertised to come in an airtight foil bag but, they don't. They were delivered in a clear plastic baggie tight with air inside. Tubes deteriorate quickly when exposed to the atmosphere and light. I called Jenson about it and all they said is, "their stock must have changed", nothing worse than not getting what you ordered. Disappointing Jenson wouldn't do anything about correcting the order; they should let you know, before shipment, if they plan to give you something other than what you ordered. I ordered this same brand of tube for my mountain bike, same problem.

I bought six of these and i've used them all up within a month of riding. These are cheap and lightweight so they might be good for quick race crits but not for long distance riding. I've averaged 1-2 flats per ride since I started using these. I'm going to go back to q-tubes.

Comments about Duro Road Presta Valve Tube:

I was pretty "excited" to find tubes at this price as I've always wondered why tubes were, in general, so relatively expensive. I bought a half dozen of these. I like the wrapper they come in, which makes them easy to store and pack. That being said, these are very narrow tubes ... I wish they came in different sizes. They're also very thin. Will they get you where you're going? Yes, but I definitely wouldn't expect them to last a really long time (without flatting) or use them in situations where you can't afford to flat. All six are now in my pile of other tubes with holes in them (which brings up another point ... because they are so narrow, there's practically no way they can be patched)

These tubes come in individual mylar bags. I like to keep an extra tube in my jersey pocket on most rides. Being in a waterproof bags just makes it easier. The longer stem tubes for the same price is a plus. The low price also makes it easy to help out another rider when they come up short.
