KS Exaform Suspension/Dropper Seatpost

KS ExaForm Suspension/Dropper Seatpost

Great option for 27.2
I bought this for my Surly Pugsley a few years ago. Glad to see they are still making them. There is a little cush in the post which is great for smoothing out some of the bumps associated with riding a hardtail. It is also nice to see a 27.2mm size, which is not the most common. I would like to see them make it lighter, and with more travel, like 150mm.

Good dropper but lever doesn't last
The dropper itself works great, especially considering the price, but the handlebar lever broke after about a dozen rides. If you buy one plan on spending another $30-35 down the road for a Southpaw lever.

I like this. Admittedly, I've never used the typical 400 bucks or so post, but this is responsive enough going up and down, and I feel a heck of a lot safer able to ride lower through the rocky downhills of southern Utah desert rides. I ride a hard tail, but can't tell that I am getting much cushion from the supposed shock absorber aspect of the seat.

Very impressive epically for the price.
This seatpost works flawlessly. It's my first dropper post and I didn't want to break the bank. For the price and operation of this one it's a no brainer. It works just like it should and the control is easy to mount.

Hits the needed pricepoint
amazing price point. Unit is better than i expected at this price. its just for my commute bike so that I can have some fun when i want to hit something on the way to work. i wouldn't recommend this for hard core off road use. I use the higher end KS units for that.

Great post, great value, poorly made remote switch.
The post itself is fantastic. Responsive and a great value for less than 100$. Cable linkage is the way to go for a dropper, there's no reason to have a hydraulic system for something like this. One star deducted because the remote switch is terrible quality, so expect to replace that at some point because you WILL break it.

Good for my hardtail
This dropper impressed me for the price. The action is quick and seems to return better (quicker, less sticky) than KS LEV.
It is great it is 27.2 mm because you can shim it to any seat post size.
I was skeptical about the built in suspension. There is no way to lock it out. I figured out I had to raise my saddle a little so the sag of my weight on the seat was at the correct saddle height. This also means if you shift your weight the saddle height changes (if you take your hands off the bars). if you are very particular about your saddle height this is not for you. But on a mountain bike I don't think it matters as much.
I do like the suspension for rocky climbs on my hard-tail because if the rear wheel bucks up you don't get shot out of the seat.
I like this but i might try a different cheap dropper next time. However this seems to be holding up well.

Great for the price
This is my first dropper post that I've owned or rode on.
With that being said, I think this is a great addition to my hardtail 29er. It helps a bit from a suspension standpoint and really helps when I drop it. It provides enough clearance for my body when it's dropped for my style of riding.

Works Great!
Was looking for a dropper post that I could actually afford right now. My brother has had this same seatpost for a few weeks and he recommended it. It only took a couple minutes to install. The included remote is pretty cheap but it works, would like to upgrade soon. I have ridden around a lot with it already and it works great. Can't wait to take it onto some trails.

Is there any way to lock out the 55mm of suspension?
A shopper on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Not that I'm aware of. In fact, I wouldn't recommend this seat post all together. Barely a couple months into it it's already depressing down when I sit on it without touching the remote. That said I'm 205 lbs so maybe it was not designed for a rider my weight... You get what you paid for I guess...
Is it serviceable?
jo o on May 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. KS seatposts are user serviceable. Thanks for your question, Keep Pedaling!
