SRAM Force 1 Left Side Brake Lever

SRAM Force CX1 Mechanical Left/Front Brake Lever

The new SRAM Force CX1 groupset is a complete high-performance 1x11 cyclocross drivetrain created by blending the best of SRAM’s revolutionary XX1 mountain bike and road technologies. This phenomenal single-ring, 11-speed complete drivetrain is lighter, simpler, and tougher while offering a clean look and optimal gear selection for cyclocross. SRAM Force CX1 offers exceptional chain management and smooth shifting no matter the conditions or terrain. Leave the competition behind this season with a little help from SRAM FORCE CX1.

SRAM Force CX1 brake levers are bred from the DNA of our the best-in-class SRAM Red, representing SRAM's most advanced thinking on perfecting the interface between cyclocross rider and bike. When running a 1x drivetrain, there's really no reason for a left shifter. The CX1 brake lever solves that problem, ditching the left shifting mechanism and offering simple, streamlined braking peformance.

Features:

  • Bred from the DNA of SRAM's best-in-class RED levers with the added feature of 1x11
  • ErgoFit textured body improves grip and finger wrap with reduced diameter, providing better control, and a better transition to the bar
  • Reach Adjust™ allows you to perfectly set lever reach to your personal specifications.
  • Left-hand lever has no shift paddle and weighs in at just 119 grams
  • Left-hand lever only, order right-hand lever seperately

Essential part of 1x CX drivetrain!
This is a great brake-only lever and is an essential part of the SRAM 1x CX drivetrain. Matches perfectly with the Force 22 shift lever, looks good and works well. Top stuff.

1x is the bomb.
I'm happy with my 1x road drivetrain. I use 46t and 11-42. 1x is simpler, more reliable, easier to install and adjust/maintain, and it looks better. It weights about the same as 2x because although you lose your front shifter, derailleur, inner chainring, and cable and housing, you need a bigger cassette and rear derailler. A 10-42 or 11-42 gives you all the range you could possibly need for any ride except maybe if you're loaded with a ton of gear and need super small gears. Plus the steps between gears are optimal - requires only 1 shift to find the right gear rather than several with narrower cassettes. It's nice to have gears that shift perfectly finally. I could never get my front derailleurs to work flawlessly. If you're thinking about trying 1x, go for it. Everything about it is superior in my opinion.

Awesome
This thing is light and I love that there is even an option to buy this without a shifter mechanism. Perfect for 1 by setups.

Will this brake lever work with Avid bb7 road mechanical dick brakes?
Kip on May 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It will work fine, however you will want the Road version of the BB7 brake and not the MTB version, as the pull ratios are different.
